What does the founder price include?
Everything the launch price includes: the full app, the built-in AI with no API key, and a year of updates. You pay $13 instead of $19 (or $20 instead of $29 for two Macs) because you're trusting us before launch. Your license key is ready in your Polar customer portal as soon as you pay, and works the day FocusNod ships.
If FocusNod doesn't ship, you get your money back in full. You can also ask for a refund any time before launch and for 14 days after, no questions asked.
Why no subscription?
The AI judgment that powers FocusNod is cheap: a typical day of use costs us well under a cent, and a year costs about a quarter. Even a heavy user at the daily cap costs a few dollars a year, far less than one license. There's nothing to rent you, so we don't.
For comparison, AI focus apps with built-in AI that we checked charge by the week, month or year, from about $40 to $150 a year. FocusNod is less than half of a single year of any of them.
What happens after a year?
The app keeps working, smart checks included. You just stop getting new versions. If you want another year of updates, it'll be 50% off. Old versions keep talking to our server, because we never break them.

Refunds

Who handles payment?
Polar is our merchant of record. It processes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and emails your receipt. We never see your card details.
